The Rick Pankow Foundation provides financial assistance for essential living expenses to families struggling with a cancer-related illness. Below are recipients of the foundation.

“Me out on a walk during my treatment at Fred Hutch”

Ngaire

“I was grateful that I lived in a part of the country that was able to give me the best of care, that I had friends and family here to support me, and organizations, such as the Rick Pankow Foundation that were able to offer me financial support.
It is difficult enough to go through the physical and emotional aspects of a bone marrow transplant, and although I have excellent healthcare through my work there are so many costs that are not covered that can become overwhelming. Once again, I am so grateful to the Rick Pankow Foundation for helping me with my housing expenses. It has provided a much needed relief during a difficult time. Thank you again for being part of my journey.”

Mariano (far right) and family

Mariano

“Hi! my name is Mariano I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. My wife had to take time off from work to be my care giver. With both of us being out of work it was very stressful to think about having enough funds to get by in this already difficult time.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to the Rick Pankow foundation for the generous rent funds that were provided to our family.

This journey has not been easy, your support has mean a lot to us and has allow us to focus on treatment and recovery, may God continued to bless this wonderful organization and its supporters. Words cannot express how grateful our family is of the help we have received.”

Dennis

“Hi my name is Dennis, I am a 68 yr old semi-retired computer engineer, in the industry for 45 years.  Having cancer stinks, having two types of cancer REALLY stinks; I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago with chronic lymphocytic leukemia with lymphoma, and a year ago with plasmacytoma myeloma, which shattered my C-1 vertebra.

I received treatment and one symptom is a severe migraine like headache that never goes away. Work has been sparse, my ability to work is limited and as with many folks I wasn't ready for retirement yet. Going through this alone is really tough.

The help I've received from The Rick Pankow Foundation is a genuine life saver and is keeping a roof over my head for a couple more months while I try to find work, deal with these cancers and life.  A huge thank you to RPF for their generosity, humanity and the caring folks who make the Foundation possible. God bless you.”

Rick

"My name is Rick, and I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. This is the second time I have had cancer. One of the worst parts is watching the savings go away slowly every month, as it is impossible to work with all of the medications, weekly appointments with several doctors, chemotherapy and so on.

I'd like to thank this foundation for delivering a much needed break. Thanks to them, I was able to pay my mortgage for a few months. That weight lifted off my chest allows me to focus only on treatment, and not the stresses that inevitably invade the brain and add so much unnecessary stress. I can rest at night now, and enjoy the time I have here.

Thank you from the deepest crevasses of my soul. You've greatly impacted my life, as this kind of generosity is not common."

Katie

“Thank you so much for all your help in getting me closer to the end of my treatment.

I can’t wait to get back to my life this summer!”

Charlie

"Charlie is 4 years old. She was having tummy problems and the hospital found a large mass in her belly. She recently had a very successful 8 hour tumor removal surgery in March. Charlie is at the hospital almost daily now doing high dose chemotherapy and later a stem cell transplant.

Emily and her family commute to Children’s Hospital nearly every day. Their out of pocket maximum is very high and even though both are working, they struggle to pay the very large outstanding deductible due. Your donations to RPF helped their family get above water and make progress on Charlie's medical bills.

Charles

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the organization for the generous rent funds that were provided to my family during this very difficult time. As you know, my family and I have been navigating the challenging rollercoaster of my Leukemia diagnosis, and the extreme financial burden that comes with fighting the Leukemia.

Your support has meant the world to us and has allowed us to focus on my treatment and recovery without the added stress of worry about how we will pay our mortgage and rent while in Seattle. Our four children also feel the positive impact of your kindness, and we are forever grateful of having their home safe from destitution.

The journey of Leukemia has not been easy, but the support of organizations like yours has made it easier for our family to cope and hope for going home. We appreciate all that you have done for us and want to express our heartfelt thanks!

Regina

"I am so very grateful to the Rick Pankow Foundation for providing a glimmer of hope and encouragement for helping me during my cancer journey.

I never could have imagined the degree of despair, desolation, fear, and confusion I would feel as to what was happening in my body during my chemotherapy, hospital stays, and recovery from surgery and radiation treatments.

May God continue to bless the work of The Rick Pankow Foundation. Words cannot express how appreciative I am of the help I’ve received."

Eufrasio

“First and foremost, we want to thank the foundation for supporting us in this process. There have been difficult moments in Eufrasio’s cancer treatment, but it’s very nice to be able to count on your foundation to help people, documented and undocumented. We are very, very grateful for the support you have offered. Thank you so much.”

Deidre

“I want to say thank you to The Rick Pankow Foundation and all its supporters and donors. You all are truly amazing and I couldn't be more grateful to you and the support you've given me. Your donation or gift blessed me with the money to cover my rent, while I was in the hospital. The support allowed me to focus on my battle and my spiritual and mental strength. RPF didn't hesitate to show support and care in their decision to help me and for that I will forever be grateful. Once I'm back on my feet I look forward to being a willing and long-term donor. Thank you.”

Lisa

“I would like to submit a huge thank you for helping to pay one of my medical bills. I am self insured and have pancreatic cancer. This foundation helped out in just the right time. I could not be more appreciative of the kindness. Thank you. This is a picture of myself with my grandkids.'“

“I was out of work for 3 months during my treatment, so bills were piling up and I was struggling to get them paid. I found out about the Rick Pankow Foundation and reached out. They requested copies of the bills I needed paid, and then they sent the payment directly to them. It was a tremendous relief to have that taken care of.”
